Tackling the climate emergency in isolation will not work. It is a collaborative effort – of governments, people, businesses, and other stakeholders, tapping into each other’s enthusiasm, expertise and desire for change.
This relations between ClearVUE.Business and Watford FC comes from a combined passion to protect the future of the planet and work together to tackle the climate emergency. Watford FC’s drive to become the most sustainable club in the English Football League, but without a dedicated resource of net zero consultancy and technology, the goal would be off target. Partnering with ClearVUE.Business was essential.
Watford FC’s stakeholders want the club not only to take care about its own sustainability but also to create a positive impact for those other businesses and the wider community around them and have an impact on society as whole. In addition, the club wants to be in a strong position to respond to new UK Government legislation to ensure they do not fall foul to carbon emission taxes or penalties. This will require the introduction of a strategy that heralds wholesale change in operational and behavioural measures.
But this is not why Watford have started the journey. They have started the journey because of a social conscience – a moral obligation to their fans to create a sustainable club that its young supporters and their future children can enjoy together for generations to come.
